How to repay a USDC loan backed by AVAX in five steps
Repaying a USDC loan backed by AVAX means sourcing USDC or swapping collateral, checking the updated debt and health factor, then withdrawing only released AVAX.

To repay a USDC loan backed by AVAX, reduce the USDC debt in the lending market, then withdraw any AVAX the position releases. Repayment usually requires USDC; AVAX collateral pays the debt only if the market offers a route to swap it into USDC.
What should you check before repaying a USDC loan?
Open the lending market’s position page and check the current USDC debt, including accrued interest, and the position’s health factor. Aave’s protocol documentation says repayment reduces debt and improves the health factor; the available actions and labels vary by market.
If you need to swap AVAX into USDC separately, this guide to using Blackhole Swap on Avalanche C-Chain covers that exchange route. Keep some native AVAX in your wallet for network fees, and check the quoted output and fee before approving a swap.
How do you repay the USDC debt with AVAX collateral?
Use one of two routes: repay with USDC you already hold, or swap AVAX into USDC first if your market does not support repayment directly from collateral. Follow these five steps:
- Connect the wallet holding the loan and select the correct Avalanche lending market.
- Read the latest USDC debt and choose a partial repayment or the full amount shown by the market.
- If needed, swap only the AVAX amount required for the repayment, checking slippage and the estimated USDC received.
- Approve the USDC for the lending market if prompted, then submit the repayment transaction.
- Wait for the transaction to confirm and refresh the position to verify the debt and health factor changed.
For a full payoff, use the market’s displayed maximum or leave a small USDC buffer if entering the amount manually: interest can accrue before the transaction confirms. Check the final debt balance after confirmation, since a small remainder may keep the loan open.
When can you withdraw the remaining AVAX?
Withdraw only the AVAX the market marks as available after repayment. Collateral backing an outstanding debt may remain locked if withdrawing it would put the position below its required health factor.
A partial repayment leaves some debt and may leave some collateral locked; a full repayment can release the position’s collateral, subject to the market’s withdrawal rules and transaction confirmation. The next step is to verify the debt is cleared and the AVAX withdrawal is available; the market’s exact repayment options and any collateral-swap support depend on its rules.
